There’s a parrot named Rocco and he is wildin’, #Roomies. Rocco is already famous for all the wrong reasons and now he’s making headlines because he’s up to no good while his owner is away.
Rocco is an African grey rescue parrot that was adopted by one of the employees who works at the animal shelter that Rocco was kicked out of for cursing too much!
Rocco is stirring up trouble again now that he apparently has found a friend in Alexa, according to @People. His owner, National Animal Welfare Trust staff member Marion Wischnewski, says she caught the bird ordering snacks from Amazon including strawberries, watermelon and ice cream.
Wischnewski apparently also caught Rocco trying to romance Alexa.
“I come home … and he has romantic music playing,” Wischnewski said.
In turn, Alexa has been letting the bird use her for his shopping needs. Rocco, like many African greys, is quick to pick up words and mimic humans. He has used his voice to order “strawberries, watermelon, raisins, broccoli and ice cream” for himself.
The deliveries are often a surprise to Wischnewski. Despite his occasional shopping spree, she said that Rocco “has the sweetest personality.”
Earlier this year, the parrot was found flying around as a stray and was brought to NAWT’s Berkshire center. Rocco was kept in the shelter’s office, where he was quite the entertainer, amusing staff members with his bad behavior, including the occasional cussing fit.
After some time at NAWT, Rocco began to calm down and eventually won over Wischnewski, who decided to give him a home.
#Roommates, what do you think of this parrot? Let us know!
