Roommates, Saweetie’s career has been on that “all gas, no brakes” vibe. From interviews to appearances to new music, the Icy Girl has stayed the course to success. This is despite circulating headlines earlier this year about her personal life, including her split with Migos’ rapper Quavo. On Thursday, the rapper released the music video to her new song ‘Fast (Motion).’ When a comedic duo questioned a running scene in the video, Saweetie responded lightheartedly with a behind-the-scenes look.
Saweetie’s team provided an exclusive first look of the song’s official video to The Shade Room. Later that same Thursday, the video was shared to her official YouTube account. The three-minute film, as described in the video, features a sports-like adventurous theme. Saweetie transitions between various sports like soccer, skydiving and basketball throughout the song.
Well, on Friday comedic duo ItsTheReal took to Twitter to question the Icy Gang about their star’s running skills.
“Love to the Icy Gang but is this her first time running?” ItsTheReal tweeted.
In their tweet, the duo included a short clip of the opening scene where Saweetie is seen participating in a track meet against herself. To give context, It’sTheReal is a comedic duo made up by brothers Eric and Jeff Rosenthal. Together, they produce a lengthy list of content including sitcoms, podcasts, original music, sketches, etc.
Saweetie kept her response lighthearted with laughing indicators like emojis and a behind-the scenes look. She shared a photo of herself posing in a stretch position with her arms above her head. She’s standing on a mini treadmill covered in green paint to accomplish that green screen magic.
“LMAOOOOO it’s not but y’all can roast me it was 4am on a mini treadmill I thought I was finna fall off,” Saweetie tweeted in response.
