Russell Wilson Makes A Big Announcement Regarding His NFL Career
On Sunday, March 10, Russell Wilson took to Instagram to share a video with fans. The clip began with a dark screen and featured audio from the 1978 single “Renegade” by Styx.
As the clip played, viewers could see flashes of a football field surrounded by football players and onlookers sporting yellow and black attire. Eventually, the clip showed the setting to be the Acrisure Stadium in Pennsylvania, which is home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, per the team’s official website.
In the caption of his post, Wilson appeared to reveal that Pittsburgh is the next destination for himself and his quarterback career.
“Year 13. Grateful. @Steelers”
According to Yahoo Sports, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter has alleged that Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Steelers. Additionally, although he’s parted ways with the Denver Broncos, he’ll reportedly receive $38 million from the organization in his 2024 salary.
The outlet reports that Wilson’s new deal can serve as an opportunity to “rewrite his legacy” after his two seasons with the Broncos reportedly went “poorly.”
Social Media Reacts
Wilson’s wifey, Ciara, made sure to share her support for her husband in the comment section of his post. Additionally, the singer dropped black and yellow heart emojis.

Russell Wilson Recently Faced Conflict With The Denver Broncos
According to Yahoo Sports, Wilson signed with the Denver Broncos two years ago after leaving his first team, the Seattle Seahawks. However, his run with the Broncos did not meet the team’s expectations.
The outlet reports that Wilson “didn’t play up to what the Broncos gave up for him in a trade or the contract extension he signed.” As The Shade Room previously reported, around December, Wilson also suffered an injury that recently left him on the bench for the remainder of the football season.
At the time, Wilson reportedly alleged that Bronco officials threatened him.
“They came up to me during the bye week and beginning of the bye week, Monday or Tuesday, they told me if I didnβt change my contract, my injury guarantee, that Iβd be benched the rest of the year,” Wilson reportedly told the media, seemingly implying that the Broncos did not want to pay his $37 million injury guarantee while he was on the bench.
At the time, Wilson appeared disappointed by how he was allegedly treated. However, he still seemed optimistic about his and the team’s potential future.
“I hope that itβs here,” he explained when speaking on his potential return with the Broncos for the upcoming season. “At the end of the day, I think that what Godβs got for me no matter what it is, Iβm gonna keep trusting in him. Iβm gonna keep putting my best foot forward every day, trying to be as professional as I can be every day, no matter what the circumstances are.”
I'm glad Russell Wilson decided to speak up and explain what really happened instead of allowing Sean Payton and the Broncos get away with their one-sided versions of the truth. pic.twitter.com/Ds5DpOGCx1
