It looks like Russell Simmons has filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons and her current husband Tim Leissner for allegedly using his shares from the energy drink company Celsius to fund Tim’s legal fees.
According to the documents obtained by The Blast, Russell, Kimora, and Tim all invested millions of dollars into the energy drink company Celsius. However, the documents reportedly state that Kimora and Tim “conspired with each other, aided and abetted each other and together engaged in fraud by causing an unlawful conversion and fraudulent transfer” of Russell’s shares from the company and allegedly without his knowledge or consent.
Russell reportedly claims they transferred his shares to themselves and used it as collateral for Tim’s bail. He reportedly obtained a new accountant that noticed a “substantial unexplained change,” in his shares for the company.
As we previously reported, back in 2018, Tim pled guilty to conspiracy to launder money and violate foreign anti-bribery laws.
The Blast reports, in the lawsuit Russell continued to state that Kimora and Tim “knew full well that Leissner would need tens of millions of dollars to avoid jail time, stay out on bail, and forfeit monies for victim compensation.”
Russell is now seeking damages against Kimora and Tim and compensation for interest and equal value for the shares that were allegedly taken from him.
The site also notes that Russell sent a letter to Kimora on May 5, 2021, asking her to do the right thing regarding this situation in order to avoid a lawsuit.
Russell Simmons, nor Kimora Lee Simmons have spoken out publicly about this matter.
