Robert De Niro and his partner Tiffany Chen wasted no time revealing the first image and name of the 79-year-old actor’s newborn seventh child, Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro, who they say was planned.
Gia was officially introduced to the world after an appearance of her very famous dad with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, who followed up on Monday’s reports of the child’s birth.
King was the first to post Gia’s picture and reveal the child’s name, which she obtained three days after the initial news broke.
King reports that the infant was born on April 6 at a healthy 8 pounds and 6 ounces.
De Niro and Chen reportedly planned for Gia and were “over the moon” about the newest addition to their family.
“They both wanted this baby,” she revealed. “They’re over the moon. She was brought here in love. He’s very psyched about it.”
Meanwhile, De Niro confirmed in an interview with ET Canada Monday that he “just had a baby.” Chen’s baby bump made headlines last month, according to Page Six.
In 2021, rumors of a romantic relationship between the pair began circulating. Online sources indicate she is a martial arts instructor based in New York. The two celebrated the Oscar winner’s 78th birthday together in France, according to Page Six.
According to reports, they first worked on “The Intern” in 2015, and the next year, there were pictures of them on a trip to Spain.
The 79-year-old Golden Globe winner reportedly shares seven children with four different women, two of whom he married.
He shares Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46 — with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott. He has two other children — Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11 — with ex-wife Grace Hightower.
He’s also a father to twins Julian and Aaron, 27, with ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith, according to Page Six.
De Niro’s newest addition makes for child No. 7.
All six of his previous children are biracial and born to Black mothers.
