Roommates, Rihanna has graced the covers of practically every important magazine throughout the course of her career—but she recently stepped things up by pulling double duty in front of and behind the camera. Covering the latest issue of ‘Vogue Italia’ magazine, Rihanna naturally looks her best, but she also flexed her skills as both stylist and photographer for the fashion shoot.
Rihanna just added a few more titles to her already lengthy resume, as she proved that she is once again a woman of many talents—including when it comes to photoshoots. Riri shared the cover image of the latest issue of “Vogue Italia,” that she styled and photographed all on her own. In the photo, she looks stunning wearing a sheer Valentino gown and high heels as part of the magazine’s “Rihanna by Rihanna” issue. She captioned the cover photo she posted on Instagram with a caption that read, “The do it yourself issue.”
Speaking about Rihanna’s turn behind the camera, “Vogue Italia” explained a bit about how the issue came to be:
“On set Rihanna played simultaneously the artist and the muse, the observer and the observed, the director and the character, experimenting on the fine line that exists between the two sides of an artist. In recent years we have tried to use our cover in many different ways: with photography or illustrations, or with no images at all.”
Magazine Editor-In-Chief, Emanuele Farneti, added “But we’ve never invited the featured person to do everything by themselves: to pose, take the photographs and choose the clothes to wear. If there was a right occasion for this new experiment, it could only have been the DIY issue. Neither could there have been a better protagonist than Rihanna – who has appeared on so many covers, but never like this time in the version in which she, and only she, has chosen to portray herself, without filters or any mediation.”
Meanwhile on the personal side of things, Rihanna is also living her best life with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, who recently gushed about her being the love of his life and knowing that she is “the one” for him.
