Chris and Monique Samuels — who previously appeared on The Real Housewives of Potomac and Love & Marriage: DC — have reportedly finalized their divorce after 11 years of marriage.
According to PEOPLE, a Montgomery County Family Court representative confirmed that Monique and Chris finalized their divorce earlier this week.
The documents on the matter have reportedly been sealed, and neither party has released a statement to acknowledge the finalization.
Through their union, Chris and Monique Samuels welcomed three children—Christopher, 10; Milani, 8; and Chase, 4.
As The Shade Room reported, word of the pair’s split broke earlier this year, with PEOPLE uncovering that Monique had initially filed for divorce in April — just one month after marking 11 years of marriage.
During a later Instagram Live, Monique confirmed filing on April 14th and called the situation “very stressful.” She also pointed out that, while they had been married for 11 years, they were together for a total of 17 years.
Monique added, “[Divorce is] just a part of life, unfortunately. Sometimes it happens. Some people stay married forever, some people don’t.”
This development came about nine months after Monique Samuels shut down separation reports in October 2022 by showing that she was still rockin’ her wedding ring and standing right by her husband’s side.
A couple of days later, Chris and Monique Samuels directly addressed the rumors. The Samuels noted that they were still firmly together and had previously been “working on [their] personal issues.”
We wish Chris and Monique Samuels well as they go their separate ways and navigate co-parenting.
