Dang, #Roommates! First Alexa was creepin, now Teddy bears?!?
Seems like privacy is becoming a thing of the past and now not even our children are safe. The New York Post reports Teddy bears from the toy company CloudPets are being pulled from shelves due to privacy concerns after leaking voice recordings of kids!
The toys come with an app that kids use to record and send messages through the toys. The company exposed more than 2 million recorded messages from parents and their babies to potential hackers.
CloudPets has acknowledged the invasion of privacy but says user information was not compromised. And it sounds like retailers knew of the security risk the bears posed for about a year now but didn’t really do anything until a privacy nonprofit wrote an open letter last month, urging them to stop selling the bears.
