In under 24 hours, Diddy and Cassie and her husband, Alex Fine, have become top-trending topics on social media. Now, social media users are digging up videos of the former couple and her life after the relationship ended in 2018.
As previously reported, the “Me & U” singer filed a lawsuit in New York on Thursday under the city’s temporary Adult Survivors Act. With an expiration date of Nov. 23, Cassie told CNN it “became clear” she needed to “speak up about the trauma” she experienced with Diddy. The producer has denied her allegations of sexual assault, physical abuse, and sex trafficking via his lawyer.
Cassie’s lawyer says Diddy tried to “silence” Casandra with “eight figures,” but she “rejected his efforts.” His attorney has said the lawsuit is a result of “blatant blackmail” from the last six months. Neither has shared social media posts about the lawsuit.
The following content has reached trending status in the United States on social platforms such as Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Tiktok, and Meta.
Editor’s Note: Anyone affected by sexual assault, whether it happened to you or someone you care about, can find support from online.rainn.org. You can also call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800.656.HOPE (4673) to be connected with someone over the phone who can help.
Cassie references Diddy’s BET Lifetime Achievement Award speech on pages 1-2 of her 35-page lawsuit. Brother Love — the name he introduced to fans in 2021 — accepted the award in 2022. Towards the end of the speech, he shared his thanks for his ex-girlfriend of over 10 years.
“Yeah, also Cassie for holding me down in the dark times. Love!” Diddy said.
Diddy and Cassie met in 2005 when she was 19 and he was 37. She signed a 10-album deal with Bad Boy Records in February 2006, and they began publicly dating in 2007.
Cassie’s lawsuit, however, alleges that she was coerced into the relationship through intimidation and “forced” intimate acts. She names a forced kiss at a birthday celebration when she was 21 and alleges Diddy having “sexual intercourse” with her after providing her “drugs.” She alleges rape, physical beatings, abuse, and forced sexual acts with male sex workers while Diddy allegedly filmed.
Other resurfaced content is going deeper into the past, highlighting interviews of Diddy and Cassie together. One 13-second clip from 2018 shows Diddy and Cassie speaking to a Vogue reporter. Diddy and Cassie were on the Met Gala’s red carpet.
In the viral clip, the reporter asked Cassie, “Final question, is there anything that you may wanna confess tonight before you go in?”
She responded: “I keep everything right here [motioning to herself] or right here [motioning to Diddy.]”. Then, the singer and Diddy chuckle a bit.
The most popular X post featuring the clip has over 1.3 million views and more than 890 shares. Their full interview is less than a minute long.

Then, there’s Cassie’s life after she and Diddy parted ways. In her lawsuit, Cassie detailed struggles with the “physical and mental manifestations of her trauma.” She credits the birth of her daughters with Alex Fine with giving her “a new lease on life.” However, she says she’s suffered “horrific nightmares,” “difficulty eating or sleeping,” and strained relationships with “her family.”
Her husband is not mentioned in the lawsuit at all. But on social platforms, one clip of the married couple embracing is receiving special attention amid her lawsuit.
In August 2019, Alex Fine shared a video of him and Cassie embracing. The moment happened after he had reportedly run 50 miles for domestic violence, per theJASMINEBRAND. The outlet said Fine ran from Compton to Malibu for Haven Domestic Violence Shelter and Compton Cowboys Youth Program.
In his caption, he wrote:
“Just the person I needed with me the whole time. Wow I am so lucky to be able to hug her after this. She makes me better in every way,” Fine wrote.
In the video, Cassie seemingly listens to Fine speaking in her ear, but his words cannot be heard. At one point, she briefly closes her eyes.
