Remy Ma Speaks After Her Son Is Arrested For Murder

As previously reported by The Shade Room, JaySon Scott was arrested on June 18 and charged with first and second-degree murder. Additionally, he faces first-degree reckless endangerment charges and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

The NYPD is accusing Scott of fatally shooting Darius Guillebeaux, 47, over a dispute in 2021. Additionally, another man, Richard Swygert, was charged with first-degree murder.

The rapper told the outlet, “We stand by JaySon’s innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth.”

“This is undoubtedly a difficult time for me and my family. “While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove JaySon’s innocence,” the mother of two added.

Social Media Reacts To Rem’s Statement

In over 2,300 comments, the  Roomies weighed in on Remy’s words.

One user sympathized with the ‘Wake Me Up’ rapper. “I can’t image what she’s feeling,” @mamacita_nina wrote.

@darker_than_the_paperbag_ said, “I have my own problems. I’m gonna mind my business.”

One Roomie shared her thoughts from a mother’s POV. @adore.jvee said, “As a mother you wouldn’t know what do in this situation honestly especially if she really doesn’t know if he did it or not but that motherly instinct gone always stand by and protect your child no matter what.”

Another Roommate believes Pappose will support Remy. However, rumors emerged in December 2023 that Remy was allegedly unfaithful. The public speculated whether the pair subsequently called it quits, and neither of them have addressed the talks.
@_suckfreesi wrote, “And you already know Papoose is still gonna hold them down like the rock he’s always been. It’s times like these when you realize who loves you vs. who lusts you.”
Although this was a very serious matter, some roommates came with the jokes.
@__pedbo quipped, “I guess shooting people run in family” in reference to Remy’s 2008 assault and illegal weapons possession conviction. The “All The Way Up” rapper spent six years in prison.
@asongcalledlifepodcast wrote, “Judge is gonna read Jason spelled like ‘JaySon’ and slam that gavel so god**** hard it breaks the sound barrier.”
