Sheesh! We previously reported that the Duke Of Hastings, Regé-Jean Page, will no longer be part of the Bridgerton cast, and while we still aren’t sure why, it must be a good reason for him to turn down a bag like this
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Page was offered a lucrative deal to return for the second season of the show, but reportedly turned it down for a “multitude of reasons.” A source close to the show revealed that Page was offered a deal to guest star in three to five episodes of the season for a paycheck of $50,000 per episode.
Sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that Page is focused on his film career, as he has been filming many new projects as of late. Fans will soon see him in the Russo brothers’ Netflix film The Gray Man, and Paramount’s Dungeons and Dragons.
It seems, however, that The Duke had no intentions of returning to the show, Roomies! He previously told Variety that he agreed to do the show because it was a “one-season arc” with a “beginning, middle, end” that allowed him to “contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”
Just one day after April Fool’s day the official ‘Bridgerton’ social media accounts hit us with the news that we would no longer be seeing Simon on our Netflix screens. The show released the information in the form of one of Lady Whistledown’s news letters.
