At least three members of R. Kelly’s inner circle have cut ties with him. According to the BBC, the R&B singer’s executive assistant of over 10 years, Diana Copeland, and his attorney of the past four years, Linda Mensch, have resigned from their roles.
His publicist, Trevian Kutti, also confirmed to Pitchfork that she no longer works with R. Kelly as of April 16th.
The timing seems to come after several sexual allegations surrounding the singer, including sex cult allegations and a new complaint claiming he allegedly “knowingly” gave a 19-year-old girl an STD.
Copeland confirmed she stopped working with Kelly as of April 1st. Mensch told the BBC she “no longer represented Mr. Kelly or his entities” but added that her departure was “unrelated to Mr. Kelly’s social life”.
