After giving an amazing performance in The Wiz Live, Queen Latifah has snagged yet another top role!
So by now you’ve heard of the “Empire” spinoff that Lee Daniels is concocting that can potentially be the next music industry drama. Transgender Amiyah Scott was linked to the project this week as well.
Latifah will be playing the role of Carlotta, the owner of an Atlanta beauty salon who happens to have vocal talent.
Her character will be playing a surrogate mother to a group of three girls who have dreams of making it big in the Atlanta music scene.
It’s reported that filming for the pilot will begin sometime this month.
