Queen Latifah is currently starring on Lee Daniels’ hit scripted series “Star,” over on Fox. Now it looks like she is looking to extend her relationship with the network.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Queen Latifah is currently developing a “bible-themed drama” for the network along with producer Holly Carter.
“The Scroll,” will be from Carter’s faith-based Releve Entertainment production company, and will feature well-known biblical stories, but in modern day.
According to the synopsis, the series “will reimagine some of the Bible’s most popular stories in the present day, through a group of friends and colleagues who are modern-day versions of some of the Bible’s most notable characters.”

If the network picks up the drama, it will be the first-ever modern day drama series based on the Bible.
The concept for the show is based on the original idea from Carter, and Michael Elliot who is known for films such as “Brown Sugar,” and “Just Wright,” will pen the script.
Queen Latifah will executive produce alongside Carter and Elliot. And Twentieth Century Fox Television will produce in association with Releve Entertainment and Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Television.
