Prosecutors In Bill Cosby’s Retrial Reportedly Want 19 Women To Testify

Bill Cosby is due in court on Monday for a pretrial hearing less than two weeks after the death of his daughter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, prosecutors are looking to call as many as 19 women to the witness stand to show a pattern of Cosby drugging and hurting women over a span of five decades.

Cosby’s lawyers are reportedly conflicting with prosecutors on the number of accusers that are allowed to testify during his sexual assault trial, which is scheduled to take place on April 2nd.

Last year, the judge allowed one accuser to the witness stand during Cosby’s first trial, which in ended in a hung jury.

Cosby’s lawyers reportedly said they are looking to delay the retrial if more accusers are given the chance to testify. They are arguing it will take extra time to look into the allegations.

Prosecutors have proposed to call as many as 13 witnesses and added an additional six names, including supermodel Janice Dickinson.

In a court filing, Cosby’s lawyers wrote that some of the accuser’s allegations go back as far as the 1960’s, making it “virtually impossible to defend against.”

Jury selection is scheduled to take place on March 29th.
