Tyka Wilson, Prince’s only full blood sister, has finally set the record straight on many of the rumors surrounding her brother’s death.
Wilson took to her Facebook yesterday morning to make it clear that the only funeral services she and Prince’s body will be at is the one that his family planned for later this summer.
“U know I only come on here when I have sumthin’ ta say…So Let me make myself VERY CLEAR! I nor my brother’s remains will be present at any Memorial or Funeral services, until the families Memorial/Funeral/Tribute,” she said. “Please Don’t misunderstand…The grief process is a unique experience to each individual and Therefore I support any and all Memorials or Funerals that have happened and/or are being planned…However I will Not be in attendance, because I feel that once…is enough.”
As for reports surfacing about family fighting over Prince’s estate: “No One in my family has fought about anything, and least of all me…but I must admit I think it’s funny that I’m the one they say, “Stormed out…” or that “We are at war” Me? Us? “Really? Where was I when all that happened?”
She also spoke on the “intimate gathering” that was held in Paisley Park (where Prince had resided) where she says it initially was supposed to the funeral but the services were “sadly aborted.” Instead, they turned it into a small celebration held with family and friends.
