Following the shocking death of Prince, it was announced back in August that his Paisley Park estate would be opening as a museum for fans to enjoy starting this month.
Now some fans were here for it, and others thought it should remain sacred. Nonetheless tickets quickly sold after its release.
According to Billboard, the estate opens on Thursday and will be open on a temporary permit for two more scheduled dates due to the tickets already being sold. It was originally planned for the estate to be open longer.
However, members of the city council delayed the action of rezoning as they became concerned about public safety and traffic within the area. A decision will be made on or before December 20th, to determine if the museum will open for tours full-time.
In the meantime, those who will attend get to see tons of memorabilia from the legendary singer. Including the “Purple Rain” room, which includes the script, motorcycle and guitar from the 1984 film.
Prince’s youngest sister, Tyka Nelson said, “I want them to maybe feel like maybe they saw Prince up close. Sometimes when you’re a fan, you get to only to see them from a seat, but this way, you’re almost face-to-face with him.”
