Roommates, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked millions when they announced their permanent exit from the Royal Family—and now they are discussing their decision for the first time. Harry and Meghan are set to sit down for an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey to explain why the Royal life is no longer for them.
To get audiences ready for their first-ever joint interview since publicly announcing their permanent Royal exit, clips have been released of the Oprah Winfrey interview with both Prince Harry and Meghan.
At one point during the interview, Prince Harry said that having Meghan by his side made things easier:
“I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side. Because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her, going through this process by herself all those years ago. It has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we had each other.”
Late last month, Prince Harry stated to late-night talk show host James Corden that leaving the Royal family was necessary to protect his mental health. “We all know what the British press can be like, and it was destroying my mental health. I was like, this is toxic. So I did what any husband and what any father would do.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exclusive interview with Oprah is set to air on March 7th.
