Today marked the fourth day of protests in Haiti following a government-ordered hike in fuel prices.
According to The Associated Press, the people fought back with a strike that stopped most city buses and taxis, caused airlines to cancel flights, and even caused local businesses in the capital of Port-au-Prince to shut down due to protests, some of which turned violent.
The new price of fuel was set to increase by 50 percent, however in response to the protests, the Haitian government canceled its plans for the price hike. #Roommates, let’s please keep anyone injured over the weekend lifted in prayer!
