The popular food delivery app just launched a new option for customers to have “no contact” in an effort to not contract the virus.
As many businesses are scrambling to find ways to stay afloat as the coronavirus continues to spread worldwide, Postmates is already prepared. @People reports, Postmates has just introduced “no contact” delivery, which now allows customers to specify how they would like to receive deliveries. Customers can decide to meet their delivery drivers at the door, curbside, or non-contact, where their food is left at the door.
Postmates announced the new option on its website, stating, “We know there are always people who, for health and other reasons, might prefer a non-contact delivery experience and we believe this will provide customers with that option.” For added convenience, the new “no contact” option will now be available when customers initially open their app and the preferred method of delivery will be confirmed at checkout.
Postmates isn’t the only food delivery company offering a no contact measure, as popular grocery delivery service Instacart has introduced a similar option called “leave at my door delivery” locate within its app.
These extra health measures comes as the U.S. now has 566 cases of coronavirus and 22 deaths related to the disease.
