There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Pepsi’s latest ad that stars Kendall Jenner handing protestors, and police officers Pepsi cans in an attempt to “bring peace” and unison.
Carlos Enrique attended a City Council meeting where he did something no one saw coming mid-sentence.
“What I realized is that the language of resistance has not been properly translated you,” he said as he walked up to the Mayor. “So this is for you,” he continued as he pulled out a Pepsi from his pocket, handed it to the Mayor, and took out one for himself to drink.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” the mayor said, shook, as it all went down. “Not a good move! Don’t do that again. Not a smart move.”
I mean, the Mayor must not know the new power of a Pepsi can since their latest ad…or maybe he’s more of a Coke guy.
With that being said, Enrique was escorted out by some officers following the incident. One can’t help but wonder if he had some Pepsi’s for them as well.
As a coincidence, this scenario happened the same day Pepsi decided to pull their ad campaign.
They said in a statement: “Pepsi was trying to project a global a message of unity, peace, and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”
