Popeyes definitely had a record-breaking year with the release of their chicken sandwich. That eventually led to the company running out of the sandwiches nationwide. However, as they prepare for the return of the popularized item, they are looking to hire more employees to handle the matter.
According to Bloomberg, Sun Holdings Inc., the company that runs about 150 Popeyes locations, say they will offer the sandwich early November. To prepare for its return, the restaurants are looking to hire about 400 additional employees and dedicate up to two people per store to make the sandwich.
As many of you may recall, the demand for the sandwich was more than what they could handle, which eventually caused them to run out. Guillermo Perales, the Chief Executive Officer of Sun Holdings Inc. said that was “the first time they weren’t ready.”
Restaurant Brands International Inc., Popeyes’ corporate parent said in a statement, “Our franchisees have worked to increase staffing. We have been working diligently to bring the sandwich back to our restaurants soon, as we know our guests are anxiously anticipating its return.”
There has been no confirmed date for when the sandwich would return, but Restaurant Brands International Inc. said, “As soon as we’re ready to announce a date, we will let the world know!”
As previously reported, the fast-food chain hinted at the return of their sandwich via social media with the message, “The Sandwich is coming soon…”
There has been tons of crazy things that have happened since the sandwich has gone out of stock. Back in August, a man sued the fast-food restaurant for running out of the chicken sandwich.
Roommates, what are your thoughts?
