Chicago-bred rapper Polo G has reportedly been detained by law enforcement. According to TMZ, the 24-year-old’s Los Angeles mansion was raided by police Wednesday.
According to TMZ, the rapper’s Los Angeles mansion was “swarmed” by authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday. In the video taken from the scene, Polo G can be seen walking down the steps of his front lawn as he approaches police with his hands up.
The 24-year-old is then seen being apprehended by authorities.
In the footage, two additional individuals are seen already handcuffed by police, standing near the authorities’ vehicle.
TMZ adds that all occupants were ordered out of Polo G’s mansion “one by one” as they continued to search the premises. Additionally, the outlet reports that the search warrant was executed “in relation to a robbery.”
Furthermore, a total of four suspects have been taken into police custody.
According to the outlet, a representative for Polo G has shared that the rapper has been detained “as part of an active investigation.” However, the representative adds that the rapper is not “the focus of said investigation.”
Additionally, the representative shared a statement with TMZ.
“We are hopeful the LAPD will handle this matter with tact and transparency.”
Furthermore, the representative adds that Polo G will provide more information to his fans regarding his detainment “when the time is right.”
On Wednesday afternoon, The Shade Room’s Senior Editor, Jadriena Solomon, contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s inmate answering service. However, according to a representative, no record of Polo G’s booking with the LAPD has been recorded at this time.
The 24-year-old’s arrest arrives just days after he publicly shared his thoughts about retiring from music. On Friday, the rapper took to Twitter to share that he’s “considering” the decision after his next album.
“Honestly after my hood poet album I’m considering retiring from music… so I appreciate everybody ridin for me 10 fold”
Additionally, the rapper shared another tweet expanding on his thoughts.
“This rap shit got so lame and watered down it ain’t no fun in it no more”
Furthermore, Polo G’s upcoming project, H.O.O.D. P.O.E.T. is expected to be released on September 15.
