More Details On Freddie Trone’s Testimony Amid Closing Arguments In PnB Rock’s Murder Trial
According to Rolling Stone, closing arguments for Trone and fellow suspect Tremont Jones reportedly occurred on Monday, August 5. The outlet reports that Trone took the stand on his own defense at the recent hearing.
Trone reportedly denied prosecutors’ allegations that he sent his armed son into Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant in Los Angeles, California, on September 12, 2022, with the intent to rob PnB Rock. The 42-year-old reportedly alleged that a “different driver” took his Buick Enclave to the restaurant’s parking lot. There, the driver allegedly offloaded his son, per Trone.
“I understand you’re trying to put together your story,” Trone reportedly told prosecutors during cross-examination, per XXL. “I never had nothing to do with it. I wasn’t there. I didn’t tell nobody to do nothing. I didn’t hand nobody no gun.”
Additionally, Trone denied claims that he was his son’s getaway driver.
Instead, the 42-year-old asserts that he visited Roscoe’s that day before leaving the location and stopping at his place of business. Trone reportedly left his keys on the counter at the location and allegedly returned to find them and his son missing.
Ultimately, the 42-year-old alleged that he found his son at the location after another driver, whose identity he’s reportedly refused to disclose, returned with him to Roscoe’s.
Furthermore, Trone denies that Jones handed him a gun in the Roscoe’s parking lot before the shooting.
PnB Rock’s Mother Speaks Out
Deannea Allen spoke with Rolling Stone while leaving the courthouse.
“His lies are ridiculous. That is ridiculous. The surveillance should speak for itself,” Allen said.
Additionally, Allen explained that the men involved in the case are “not trying” to accept responsibility.
“They’re trying to say they had nothing to do with it,” the mother added. “It’s unacceptable. My son was a beautiful person. He tried to take care of everyone. Our last conversation was a half-hour when he was on his way to California. He told me about all the good things he was doing. He was just trying to be better, a little more conscious.”
Ultimately, Allen told the outlet that she’s in California “to get justice.”
Here’s What Has Happened Since The Rapper’s Murder Trial Kicked Off
According to the outlet, Freddie Trone has been charged with “murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.” Jones has reportedly been charged with “two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy.” Additionally, he’s reportedly had a prior firearms charge dismissed.
Rolling Stone reports that both men have pleaded not guilty. Meanwhile, Trone’s son has been charged as a juvenile. However, he’s recently been placed on hold for trial after reportedly being determined unfit, per The Shade Room.
“Freddie Trone knew the dangers of sending his 17-year-old son in there with a ski mask, semiautomatic weapon and mission,” prosecutors reportedly alleged, per XXL. “This is the same time that a robbery and a murder is being committed, and you don’t want to tell the jury who [the driver] is? It’s because they don’t exist. It’s another lie.”
Most recently, PnB Rock’s fiancée, Stephanie Sibounheuang, took the stand and shared her eyewitness account of the rapper’s murder.
