PnB Rock’s accused shooter has been found unfit for trial. Rolling Stone reports that the teen accused of killing PnB Rock appeared in a Los Angeles County courtroom on Friday, July 26.
The Shade Room previously reported that PnB Rock died during a robbery at Roscoe’s House of Chicken N’ Waffles in Los Angeles in 2022. He was 30 years old.
Rolling Stone confirmed that Commissioner Sharonda P. Bradford said experts determined the alleged shooter, despite receiving various services in custody, lacked the competency to proceed with the trial.
“The recommendation is that the previous orders remain. The proceedings remain suspended, remediation continues,” Commissioner Bradford said.
Per Complex, police allege the 17-year-old entered the restaurant after being dropped off and subsequently shot PnB Rock in the chest and back. The outlet revealed that Freddie Trone and Shauntel Trone, the boy’s father and stepmother, face charges as accessories after the fact in Rock’s murder.
Freddie Throne has pleaded not guilty to murder, robbery, and conspiracy. Shauntel Throne accepted a plea deal.
Complex adds that another man, Tremont Jones, pleaded not guilty to robbery, conspiracy, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Fans and South Los Angeles residents were devastated by the confirmation of PnB Rock’s death during the attempted robbery at the landmark Los Angeles restaurant.
Hours before the incident, the ‘Selfish’ rapper posted on Instagram from the chain restaurant with his girlfriend Steph Sibounheuang.
The month following his death, Steph updated her followers on her mental health, expressing deep heartbreak over losing him. Despite her strong faith and spirituality, she hinted at contemplating suicide.
“I am 100% not ok. If it wasn’t spiritual I could kill my self (but then I’ll go to hell and my man not there) My man saved my life, throwing me under that table. I am. No one would be able to hand this. TBH, I can’t even handle this.”
