Piers Morgan is out at “Good Morning Britain” following his outburst during Tuesday morning’s episode, where he was confronted over his bullying of Meghan Markle.
Tuesday’s conversation centered around Piers’ ongoing criticism of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, especially after the pair gave a bombshell of an interview about their family’s treatment by the Royal Family.
Piers’ co-host Alex Beresford called out Piers for his repeated attacks on Meghan, saying, “I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made that so clear a number of times on this program. A number of times. And I understand that you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or had one and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has, but yet you continue to trash her.”
In response, Piers walked off set and said, “Okay, I’m done with this.”
Hours after the episode aired, ITV announced Piers would be leaving the show following his dramatic outburst.
“Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain,” ITV said in a short statement to CNN. “ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
Piers did not immediately reply to a request for comment from CNN, but he does have people in his corner. Sharon Osbourne shared that she is standing in solidarity with Piers following his departure from the show.
“@Piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you, People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth,” Sharon tweeted.
We’ll keep you posted on any updates.
