The projects just keep rolling in for Pharrell Williams, and this time he’ll be working on a project that is inspired by his own life.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project entitled “Atlantis,” is a musical that is being described as a Romeo and Juliet kind of story inspired by Pharrell’s childhood in Virginia Beach.
Michael Mayer who is known for his work on Broadway is scheduled to direct the project, while Martin Haynes, who is currently writing “Toy Story 4” is expected to pen the musical’s script.
Pharrell will produce the project alongside Mimi Valdes through their “I Am Other,” Production Company.
Pharrell has had an amazing career that expands over more than 20 years. With 10 Grammy Awards under his belt, he has also seen success in other fields such as fashion and film.
He served as a producer for the Oscar-nominated film, “Hidden Figures,” as well as the composer for the film’s score. He also produced the film “Roxanne, Roxanne,” which made its debut at Sundance.
