When it comes to animals being mistreated or showcased in a negative life, best believe that PETA will call someone out! This time, Jack Harlow and Drake are on the non-profit organization’s bad size for glamorizing horse racing in the music video for ‘Churchill Downs.’ In a press release, PETA’s Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo stated, “Jack Harlow’s glamorized portrayal of horse racing is missing the whips, drugs, and deaths that run rampant in the industry.” She continued, “Profiting from the abuse of others is never acceptable, and PETA is calling on Jack Harlow to pony up and pay for the care of American Thoroughbreds who would otherwise be shipped to foreign slaughterhouses.”
The organization isn’t off Jack’s back yet. They have also challenged the Louisville native to donate the song’s proceeds toward caring for Thoroughbreds discarded by the industry. Reports show nearly 7,500 exports of Thoroughbreds get slaughtered every year. So far, Jack hasn’t spoken out about the situation. It could be because he’s focused on his new partnership with Kentuck Fried Chicken!
As reported earlier, the rapper will have his own meal launching on June 6th. Fast food lovers can purchase the combo meal, hand-selected by Jack which includes the brand’s spicy chicken sandwich, mac & cheese, secret recipe fries, a side of ranch, and a lemonade.
The 3x GRAMMY-nominated rapper explained, “When KFC asked me to create my own meal, I knew it couldn’t be just any meal. My meal brings together my childhood favorites from growing up in Louisville, the KFC Mac & Cheese, with my new go-to Spicy Chicken Sandwich (with plenty of ranch), Secret Recipe Fries, and lemonade – it doesn’t get much better.”
Roommates, what do you think about PETA calling our Jack Harlow & Drake?
