Patti LaBelle, L.A. Reid, Lee Daniels & More Honored at 2016 BET Honors Hosted By Arsenio Ha

While some people may think networks such as BET shouldn’t be on the air, there are tons of reasons we can come up with as to why the network needs to be on the air. One reason being the annual BET Honors, which is used to celebrate the accomplishments of African Americans while inspiring others.

It was recently announced that Arsenio Hall will be the host of the 2016 BET Honors and the honorees are definitely amazing. This year the legendary Patti LaBelle will be honored with the Musical Arts Award. L.A. Reid will receive the Business of Entertainment Award, and word on the street is he’ll also hit the stage and reunite with his former group The Deele. Secretly we’re all hoping to see them perform their classic hit “Two Occasions”.

Other honorees include Lee Daniels, who will receive the Television and Film Award. And the Empire cast will be in attendance as well, Taraji P. Henson will be there to present alongside Mary J. Blige. And confirmed performers include Jussie Smollett and V. Bozeman. Others performers expected to tear down the stage are Fantasia, Ledisi and Leon Bridges.

Eric Holder, the first African American to serve, as U.S. Attorney General will be honored with the Public Service Award. And Mellody Hobson, the director of the Starbucks Corporation, Estée Lauder and Dreamworks Animation SKG, Inc. will receive the Corporate Citizen Award.

The BET Honors air on February 23rd at 8pm EST on BET, you don’t want to miss it!
