Chile!! Things became a little heated last night as the LA Clippers and the Phoenix Suns faced off in Game 6 of the Westen Conference Finals. Ultimately, the Suns won the game with the final score being 130-103, allowing them to win the series and advance on to the NBA Finals.
However, before the Suns took the win, there was a moment last night between Clippers guard Patrick Beverley and Suns guard Chris Paul. During the fourth quarter, Chris hit a 3-pointer, and the two reportedly shared some words, and after Chris turned around Pat Bev shoved him to the floor, causing him to be ejected from the game.
On Thursday, he tweeted out an apology and said, “@CP3 emotions got the best of me last night gang. My bad wasn’t meant for you. Congrats on making it to the finals. Best of luck.”
There has been no official word on if Pat will be fined, and if so, how much. Yahoo Sports reports that that sources say he will face suspension at the start of next season for his actions.
Chris’ brother C.J. Paul spoke to Yahoo Sports about the moment and said, “I just think it built up on Pat. That’s not a way to end it. I don’t know why he did that. I’ve looked at the play a few times and all Chris did was look at him, and that look was everything. That’s when you knew he took his heart. It’s crazy.”
Now the Pheonix Suns will have to wait to see if the Atlanta Hawks or the Milwaukee Bucks will be their opponents in the NBA Finals.
