The White House held a roundtable event on Wednesday focused on prison reform with pastors and bishops from across the country. During the event, one of the pastors told Donnie he may be the “most pro-black president” in recent history.
“This is probably the most pro-active administration regarding urban America and the faith-based community in my lifetime,” Pastor Darrell Scott said. “This is probably going be … the most pro-black president that we’ve had in our lifetime.”
Scott, who’s a black pastor from Ohio, was an early supporter of Trump’s presidential campaign, according to ABC News. He went on to say that President Obama “got a pass.”
“This president actually wants to prove something to our community, our faith-based community and our ethnic community,” he added. “The last president didn’t feel like he had to… He got a pass.”
The meeting was held to tackle criminal justice reform and create easier ways for prisoners to find work after re-entering society. Thoughts, Roommates?
