American Airlines has quickly taken action after an alleged incident that happened on one of their flights.
According to ABC News, passengers came to the defense of a mother that was allegedly hit by a flight attendant on Friday night. The alleged incident was not captured on video, but the result of it surfaced online.
The flight was leaving out of San Francisco, and the video shows an upset woman holding a child. Shortly after another passenger stands up out of his seat and confronts the flight attendant.
Passengers claim the attendant allegedly grabbed a stroller out of the woman’s hands violently, “hitting her and just missing one of her children.” Passengers say that the mother was from Argentina and probably didn’t understand when the stroller was taken away from her by the attendant.
American Airlines quickly addressed the situation, they said that the flight attendant was “removed from duty,” and the woman was upgraded to first class for the remainder of her trip.
American Airlines said to ABC 7, “We have seen the video and have already started an investigation to obtain the facts. What we see on this video does not reflect our values or how we care for our customers. We are deeply sorry for the pain we have caused this passenger and her family and to any other customers affected by the incident. We are making sure all of her family’s needs are being met while she is in our care. After electing to take another flight, we are taking special care of her and her family and upgrading them to first class for the remainder of their international trip.”
