Everyone’s favorite characters from Tyler Perry’s hit sitcom, “House of Payne,” will be making a comeback on the OWN Network.
According to Deadline, the network has picked up, “The Paynes,” which is a spin-off to the hit show that originally aired on TBS. With a total of 38 new episodes, this makes the second spinoff from that one show.
“The Paynes,” is written and directed by Tyler Perry, and will follow Curtis and Ella Payne “who are trying to enjoy their retirement in Florida only to get roped into a real estate deal that will tumble their lives like clothes in a dryer.”
Production for the new show has already begun, and it will air on OWN in 2018.
Erik Logan, the president of OWN said, “Tyler has been an incredible collaborator, a great partner and has an unprecedented track record of success with his hit scripted series. Tyler’s shows are must see TV for his loyal audience and we are excited to offer up a brand-new comedy and more episodes of their favorite Tyler dramas on OWN.”
Veteran actress, Jackée Harry will also be joining the cast. And Lance Gross will also reprise his role as Calvin Payne, he recently shared a photo from the set:
