OT Genasis Says His Keyshia Cole Cover “Never Knew” Was Removed From YouTube—“Somebody Hated”

Welp, imitation may not be the sincerest form of flattery after all, at least where OT Genasis is concerned. After blazing the Internet with his hilarious cover of Keyshia Cole 2005 song “Love,” fans simply couldn’t get enough of it and he even made an official video. Now, he recently provided an update—and it appears that the song has been officially removed from YouTube.

By now, you’ve likely heard OT Genasis’ viral hit song “Never Knew,” which is a remake of Keyshia Cole’s “Love.” You probably are also aware that Keyshia herself is definitely not a fan of the song at all and the two have engaged in a bit of a back and forth on social media about it.

When it was clear that the song had become so popular that it was being played at clubs and parties, Keyshia stated that she had plans to remove the song from iTunes as a result. Fast forward a few weeks, and now OT recently posted on social media that someone is seriously hating on his success by removing his version from YouTube.

OT wrote this:

“They took “Never Knew” down from YouTube…Somebody hated on my s**t smh! Damn cuzz…Somebody don’t like me lol”

While he didn’t name or speculate who actually had the song removed, it didn’t take long before social media quickly pointed the finger to Keyshia. Earlier this month, 50 Cent even gave OT’s version the co-sign when he performed it to hundreds of fans while at a recent concert appearance.

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
