Over the weekend, Oprah Winfrey took one of her former students wedding dress shopping as she prepares to enter the next chapter in her life.
Oprah shared the experience with her followers on social media and said, “I’ve known these girls since they were 12 and 13 coming to my school. Graduating from college. Grad school. Now our first wedding. Looking for the perfect dress. #biglifemoment.”
The young women pictured with Oprah are graduates from her school the “Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls,” located in South Africa. According to Daily Mail, Oprah shut down Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills to make sure that the perfect dress was chosen. In the photo posted by Oprah, the bride-to-be was seen holding a $10,000 bridal gown from Berta.
Mpumi Nobiva, one of Oprah’s other former students that was present during the experience also shared some of the fun she had as they looked for dresses.
Oprah opened her boarding school back in 2007 for girls in grades 8-12. The inaugural class of 72 girls graduated in 2011.
