Oprah Winfrey Publicly Speaks On Why Weight Watchers Was the “ah-ha” Moment For Her!

It is no secret that Oprah Winfrey has been struggling with her weight for some time now. The Weight Watchers spokesperson gives more details on why losing weight was a challenge for her for 20 years!

According to People, the mogul opened up on how weight was one thing she lacked as opposed to the success of her career on Saturday, April.10 at the Super Soul Sessions in Los Angeles. That weekend she honored notable figures like Kerry Washington, Amandla Stenberg, Eckhart Tolle and India Arie.

“I wanted to be thin,” said Oprah mentioning her weight struggles. “I wasted so much energy, energy and time wanting my thighs to be thin, for my arms not to flap. I had the success and the money but I was still wanting something different than I had.”

Oprah noticed she would always make an excuse for herself and used vacation time as an escape route! “Jesus did not want me to workout, so I put my leg up, ate and drank all the vacation,” she said. Even when she injured herself on a trip to Maui, that was her “license not to work.”

It was only six months ago when Oprah partnered with Weight Watchers for $43.2 million and is more than happy when they came calling because they knew she needed a lot of guidance.”It felt like an intervention from on high,” she said, adding that she thought, “if they are calling me, I must need help!”

The entrepreneur also revealed her go-to snacks like Cool Ranch Doritos and Spicy Cheetos during her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show.

We’re glad to see Oprah is in a better space!
