Stephen A. Smith Pops Off On Diddy
On Tuesday, June 25, a clip from a recent episode of ‘The Stephen A. Smith Show’ was uploaded via YouTube. During the seven-minute video, Smith explained that Diddy “made news again… for all the wrong reasons.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Diddy recently made headlines after deleting all of the content from his Instagram page. The move arrived weeks after reports alleged a federal grand jury would soon be hearing from his sexual assault accusers. Additionally, while scrubbing his Instagram content, Diddy erased the viral apology video he shared after surveillance footage surfaced of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2016.
“But here’s where it gets… I don’t want to use the word ‘tricky,’ or whatever, but one would argue ‘foolish’ on the part of Sean “P. Diddy” Combs,” Smith said before addressing Diddy directly. “My man, you deleted all the videos from your Instagram account!…”
Smith explained that if Diddy deleted 99% of his Instagram content, his apology video was the one clip he should’ve “kept up” — if he was “sincere” about his words.
“You got nearly 20 million followers on Instagram… my only point for bringing up this subject on this particular day is because, Diddy, why’d you delete that video of the apology?” Smith asked. “…Delete everything else [but] not that! Don’t you want people to know that… you were incredibly sorry? That you have profound regret for the egregious actions you were caught on camera committing?”
The host explained that Diddy’s deletion of the video could discard any belief that he was sincere in his apology.
“It comes across you wanting to erase everything, as opposed to you wanting to be accountable for everything,” the host added.

Social Media Weighs In
Social media users stepped into The Shade Room’s comment section to react to Smith’s words.
Instagram user @taecocky wrote, “He not understanding we don’t want to hear him speak on nothing 😂”
While Instagram user @cranklucas wrote, “Who gone go and hide all videos except one? And why he need to keep the apology up when we aint buy it no way? lol”
The Host Recently Caught Flack For His Comments On Will Smith
This isn’t the first time Smith has caught heat this month for his public comments. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, the host went viral after explaining that he believes “people have not forgiven Will Smith” for slapping Chris Rock in 2022.
Additionally, Smith explained that he wanted to see the actor give an interview on why he slapped Rock.
In response, the TV host’s comments sparked responses from social media users who asked him to stop speaking for the community at large and only speak for himself.
Ultimately, the slew of reactions from those who disagreed with Smith prompted him to step forward and seemingly clean up his comments on Will.
