It looks like someone that works closely with Donald Trump has tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to CNN, Thursday it was revealed that a member of the U.S. Navy, who serves as one of Donald Trump’s personal valets tested positive for the virus, which has caused many people to wonder about Trump’s current state as well.
Deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley confirmed the news in a statement and reassured that Donnie and Mike Pence are negative when it comes to the virus and are in good health. Gidley said, “We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for Coronavirus. The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus, and they remain in great health.”
A source told CNN that Donnie was upset on Wednesday when he was informed about the valet testing positive for the virus.
The valet has not been identified, however, a source revealed that he started to show symptoms on Wednesday, and news that someone close to Donald Trump had tested positive started to “hit the fan,” within the West Wing.
Trump, Pence, and the staff members that they interact with on a regular basis are tested weekly for the virus. The White House is continuing to conduct the rapid Abbott Labs test, which gives you the test results within about 15 minutes.
Donald Trump has reiterated several times that he is eager to open the country. Last week, he reportedly urged governors to consider reopening schools for the remainder of the academic year.
