“Thou shall not judge.” Even after his death, Kevin Samuels is still a hot topic. Today a resurfaced clip of Pastor Jamal Bryant’s sermon from Mother’s Day hit the internet. Everyone has something to say about his comments toward the late self-proclaimed relationship guru in the sermon, including Omarion. The singer stepped into The Shade Room to defend Kevin’s family.
As we previously reported, the Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church took a moment to bring up Kevin while addressing the congregation. He stated,
“To men who have no authority. How can a man say that you are of low value after 35-years-old? How can a man say that you do not have the level of traction of a high-powered man when that man has got to get a GoFundMe for his funeral?”
If you recall, several rumors began to swirl surrounding Kevin’s death. One of them was his close family friend, Melanie King created his GoFundMe account. The alleged fundraiser states the money will go towards his mother and daughter. In light of the comments, Omarion stepped in and commented,
“It’s sad when people can’t respect “the family” after losing a loved one. He’s no longer here. Why add insult to injury? What about the people that loved him- like his mom?” He continued, “ They gotta see this or hear about it. This is disgusting & wack asf. Regardless of his views, he didn’t kill nobody. We all need to have more compassion. This is why I don’t attend these “fake” places of worship. Respectfully.”
He stepped in again, doubling down on his comments, explaining,
“We have to have compassion yall. This life isn’t easy.”
Roommates, what are your thought on Pastor Bryant & Omarion’s comments?
