The prequel will explore the backstory of the fictional besties, James’ Ghost’ St. Patrick and Thomas ‘Tommy’ Egan, initially portrayed by actors Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora.
50 Cent took to Instagram on March 13 to inform his fans of the program’s return. He wrote:
“You asked, I answered. Young Ghost and Tommy coming your way. Power Origins now in development.”

Starz Network Exec Shares Excitement For ‘Power’ Prequel
Meanwhile, the President of Programming at Starz, Kathyrn Busby, shared her enthusiasm for the ‘Power’ prequel.
“As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe.”
She added:
“We can’t wait to see how ‘Origins’ will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience.”
‘Origins’ will reportedly be produced by Lionsgate Television. Sascha Penn will act as executive producer in addition to showrunner Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson.
Courtney A. Kemp, the creator, and Mark Canton will also executive produce the program, per The Jasmine Brand.
‘Power’ fans were devastated after its final season ended with Omari Hardwick’s character, Ghost, dying. The popular series concluded in 2020 after a five-season run. The show centers around James St. Patrick, a NYC drug dealer turned successful businessman who struggles to manage his personal life, legitimate career, and criminal activities.
Although the show ended, there were many spinoffs within the ‘Power’ universe. ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ starred Michael Rainey Jr., who played Ghost’s rebellious son, Tariq.
‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ centered around 50 Cent’s character from ‘Power’ as a youth. Mekai Curtis leads the show as Kanan Stark.
Additionally, ‘Power Book IV: Force,’ focuses on the character Tommy Eagan. Joseph Sikora portrays a determined drug dealer on a quest to conquer the Chicago drug scene.
‘Origins’ will be the fourth spinoff from the original ‘Power’ series. At this time, it is unclear whether Hardwick and Sikora will appear in the ‘Origins’ series.
