Trinity Gay, the 15-year old daughter to American track and field sprinter, Tyson Gay, unfortunately lost her life Sunday morning.
According to WKYT, Trinity was shot in the neck at a Cook Out restaurant early Sunday morning. Police responded to a call about a shooting that occurred between two vehicles just before 4am.
One of the cars involved in the shooting was identified as a dark colored sports car and the other a gray Dodge Charger. Police have two suspects of interest for questioning as their car matched the description of the Charger.
Trinity passed away just before 5am due to her injuries. Police believe she was not in either of the two vehicles but just an innocent bystander. A member of the Lafayette High School track team, Trinity was on the right track to following in her father’s footsteps.
