Back in 2017 Odell Beckham Jr. allegedly let a friend drive an expensive BMW, and his friend reportedly caused a crash in New York’s Lincoln Tunnel, wrecking the car. Now the insurance company is suing Odell.
According to TMZ, the lawsuit states car company, Celebrity Motors let Odell borrow a 2017 BMW 650XG to drive around during that time. The company claims he was the only one authorized to drive the car, but he reportedly let his friend Blake Anderson take it for a spin, and the car ended up in a wreck while going through the Lincoln Tunnel.
In the lawsuit, which was filed by Celebrity Motors insurance company, Lexington Insurance Company, they claim that OBJ’s friend allegedly “carelessly” tried to cut across several lanes as he tried to exit the tunnel. However, he reportedly hit another car causing $38,000 in damages to the BMW.
The insurance company reportedly claims that OBJ should have known that his friend had no experience operating a vehicle with “this kind of power.” They also claim that Blake doesn’t have the means to pay for the damages.
However, this is where things get a little tricky.
The company admits to not having a physical agreement with Odell for the car, but a verbal agreement, and can admit to never agreeing to take responsibility for the car.
Roommates, what are your thoughts?
