Oakland Studio Inferno Death Toll Reaches 30. Authorities Predict That Number To Keep Climbing

When the tragedy first happened Friday, only nine victims were reported to be dead at the scene of the Oakland warehouse inferno. That count has now reached 30.

According to Fox News, that death toll is likely to keep climbing as only 20 percent of “Ghost Ship” was searched as of Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is still undetermined; however it was reported that there was no properly-functioning sprinkler system and only a few exit doors.

Authorities are working round the clock to identify bodies and notify families. So far only three families have been officially notified but it’s been confirmed that there is an investigation linking license plate numbers to ownership further assist in identifying the deceased.

According to reports about 50-100 people were in the building. The names of the deceased should be released sometime Sunday evening.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families.
