Voletta Wallace, the mother of the late Bad Boy artist Notorious B.I.G., has shared her reaction to the recent allegations and assault footage of Diddy.
Rolling Stone sat down for an exclusive interview with Notorious B.I.G.’s mother, published on Thursday, May 30. During the conversation, the 71-year-old explained that she had seen the surveillance footage of Diddy assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel lobby in March 2016.
“I’m praying for Cassie. I’m praying for his mother,” she said. “I don’t want to believe the things that I’ve heard, but I’ve seen [the hotel video]. I pray that he apologizes to her.”
Additionally, Wallace explained that the recent allegations and sexual assault lawsuits against Diddy have made her “sick” to her stomach. She said that she didn’t want to believe the “awful things” being alleged about him. But ultimately, she’s “ashamed and embarrassed.”
Furthermore, Wallace shared what she hopes to do the next time she sees Diddy.
“I hope that I see Sean one day and the only thing I want to do is slap the daylights out of him,” she stated. “And you can quote me on that. Because I liked him. I didn’t want to believe all the awful things, but I’m so ashamed and embarrassed.”
Voletta Wallace ultimately ended her sitdown with the outlet by adding that Diddy needs to “spill” his guts and apologize to his mother. As for her stance on the looming lawsuits and federal investigation into the music mogul, Wallace says that she will “leave it to time.”
Social media users weighed in on Wallace’s strong reaction to the recent events involving Diddy in The Shade Room’s comment section.
Instagram user @mackjulion wrote, “I bet! I know she’s gravely disappointed in him from a personal standpoint, but also… It could loosely negatively impacts biggies legacy for being so closely aligned with him.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Diddy became the subject of headlines after his ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a sexual assault, abuse, and trafficking lawsuit against him in November 2023. Although the lawsuit was settled shortly after, Diddy has since been hit with multiple civil lawsuits also accusing the mogul of sexual assault, drugging, gang rape, and battery, per The Shade Room.
Initially, Diddy denied the various allegations against him by chalking them up to people trying to “assassinate” his character.
In March, public skepticism of the mogul intensified after federal agents raided multiple properties of Diddy’s in what was reportedly connected to a trafficking investigation, per The Shade Room. Still, Diddy maintained his image of being publicly unfazed by releasing a video of a T.D. Jakes’ sermon about remaining steady in the eye of a storm, per The Shade Room.
However, a few weeks later, Diddy’s credibility in previously denying all of the allegations against him would be called into question after CNN published surveillance footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie in 2016, per The Shade Room.
The resurfaced video would prompt Diddy to release a video apology days later, where he referred to the incident as part of a “dark time” in his life, per The Shade Room.
Most recently, it has been reported that the pending civil lawsuits against Diddy may escalate into him being indicted with a grand jury trial, per The Shade Room. The trial will reportedly see the mogul’s alleged victims take the stand as they share their experiences.
At this point, Diddy’s legal team has maintained that facts will be “distinguished” from fiction as the proceedings move forward.
“Mr. Combs cannot comment on settled litigation, will not comment on pending litigation, and cannot address every allegation picked up by the press from any source, no matter how unreliable,” Diddy’s attorney recently told Rolling Stone. “We are aware that the proper authorities are conducting a thorough investigation and therefore have confidence any important issues will be addressed in the proper forum, where the rules distinguish facts from fiction.”
