A Queens cabbie is out of job, and will be heading to the slammer pretty soon for stealing John Legend’s Louis Vuitton luggage, which just so happened to have some expensive ass Cartier cufflinks inside.
According to Page Six, Hilario Agustin, 64, was convicted of charges of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
John testified earlier in the month against Hilario and said that his wife, Chrissy Teigen, dropped some serious cash on the cufflinks, which range anywhere from $25,000 to 30,000 and loaded with diamonds.
Hilario’s actions have him looking at possibly 7 years behind bars for the March 2017 incident. What’s interesting about this is that Hilario initially said that he took his luggage by accident. Unfortunately, surveillance footage caught him walking up the cart carrying John’s LV black leather luggage and then wheeling it away in a secret area before running off with
Hilario knew this was a lie that wasn’t believable because when he was arrested he said, “I know I should not have taken it. I made a mistake.”
He will learn his fate on March 12 when he returns for sentencing.
