Nipsey Hussle’s brother, Samiel Asghedom, is shedding some light on the fate of the rapper’s brick-and-mortar shop, The Marathon Clothing store. As The Shade Room previously reported, Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot in the parking lot of the store in March 2019. The shop, located on Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles, California, was immediately closed.
Visitors flew in from around the world to pay respect to the rapper’s legacy. However, a gate was erected later that year around the entire parking lot.
Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Sheds Light On The Future Of The Marathon Clothing
Samiel Asghedom sat down for a recent interview with the Earn Your Leisure podcast. He revealed that The Marathon Clothing store will soon have a second location on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California.
“Hopefully — God willing — it will be open soon. But it definitely feels good just to continue and get it cemented. And get a brick-and-mortar location back open.”
Asghedom is very focused on The Marathon Clothing having a physical location, despite steady online sales. He says that motivation comes from his late brother.
“That’s a lesson from bro — from Hussle. Just explaining really to the whole team the importance in his vision for having a place… that you have to come touch and experience. He was saying, you have to own the retail and make it special… If you want to come tap in with anything that he’s doing, Marathon products and clothing, then the only place you can get it from is the actual brick-and-mortar store…”
Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Explained The Importance Of Having A Store For Hussle’s Children
Asghedom, also known as Blacc Sam, additionally revealed the importance of keeping Nipsey Hussle’s store open for his children, Emani and Kross. Emani Asghedom is Nipsey Hussle’s 14-year-old daughter whom he shares with Tanisha Asghedom. Kross Asghedom is Nipsey Hussle’s 6-year-old son whom he shares with actor Lauren London.
According to Asghedom, the new Marathon Clothing store building is owned in his children’s names.
“When I say we own it, it’s in Hussle’s kids’ names. This is something their father worked for, and that they own, and that’s important to me. Also, just having a brick and mortar, once again reinforced what Hussle told us, and taught us, whether you’re s**t booming online or slows down, just having that brick and mortar, and being able to pass it down through the family, I think is important.”
The Earn Your Leisure hosts, Rashad Bilal, and Troy Millings, confirmed that the decision is indeed a smart one. Additionally, explaining that since the building is located on Melrose Avenue, a popular shopping and tourist area in Los Angeles, the building’s value is more than likely to appreciate.
Asghedom confirmed the hosts’ assessment.
“The property has doubled already since we got it, yes.”
Nipsey Hussle’s Murderer Was Recently Brought To Justice
As The Shade Room previously reported, the late rapper’s murderer was recently brought to justice in February. Eric J. Holder, 33, was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison for Nipsey Hussle’s March 2019 murder.
Furthermore, Holder “received 25 years to life on the murder count, an additional 25 to life for a sentencing enhancement due to a gun being used, and another 10 years for shooting two other men that same day who ultimately survived the shooting.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, Nipsey Hussle and Holder were briefly affiliated with one another, both growing up in the South Los Angeles area. Holder, reportedly, shot Hussle to do a conversation they had on March 31, 2019, regarding “snitching.”
