Nicki Minaj‘s upcoming concert in Amsterdam has reportedly been canceled following her recent arrest.
According to PEOPLE, Minaj was expected to make her second tour stop at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on Sunday, June 2. The rapper initially performed at the venue on Thursday, May 23, per Variety
However, the outlet adds that the concert’s promoter, MOJO, has issued a statement announcing the tour stop’s cancellation on its official website.
“Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place,” the statement reads. “Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.”
According to PEOPLE, a representative for Minaj has yet to respond to the outlet’s request for comment. Additionally, Minaj has not addressed the update publicly. However, De Telegraaf, a Dutch news outlet, has reported that Minaj initiated the cancellation.
Furthermore, Billboard notes that the Ziggo Dome has confirmed the show’s cancellation via its official website.
Social media users took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to the update. Some users have expressed frustration toward Minaj even though it remains unconfirmed whether she decided on the cancellation.
While others voiced their overall disappointment.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Minaj was arrested by Dutch police on May 25 while arriving at the airport for a flight from Amsterdam to Manchester.
During the incident, Minaj took to Instagram Live and captured herself being confronted by multiple officers. Furthermore, the group accused her of carrying drugs.
Before the rapper took to the livestream, the authorities alleged they found marijuana in her bags. However, Minaj explained that the substance belonged to her security.
Later that day, Minaj was released by authorities. Additionally, the Dutch police shared a statement about her detainment, per The Shade Room. Furthermore, the police asserted that Minaj had been fined for the violation.
Then, earlier this week, Minaj took to the audio platform Stationhead and opened up more about her arrest, per The Shade Room. The rapper explained that the treatment she received while in custody was “disgusting” and said she couldn’t recall the last time she felt that “low.”
