Music has been on a lot of people’s minds today! It seems like throughout the Twitter timeline, folks have been discussing the current state of R&B., So it’s only right the Queen, Nicki Minaj, hopped in and added her two cents. The rapper mentioned how no one wants to sing and how everyone wants to rap.
“People really don’t want to sing anymore. Like. People Who. Can. Actually. Sang. Like every one will be a “rapper” from now on? I see how singers be feeling about us rappers tryna sing chi. omg nooooo,” she tweeted.
Some of the Barbz agreed with Nicki. One responded, “Literalllyyyy, I was just saying this. Like where’s the voices that we had in the ’90s-00s ugh.” Nicki liked the tweet and a few others that responded about the topic. Nicki isn’t the only celebrity who discussed music today. Earlier, Tamar Braxton tweeted, “Name a male singer that sings better than Usher.” The tweet gained over 890 responses.
One user responded by listing the names of; Luke James, Tank, Jamie Foxx, Kevon Edmonds, Avery Wilson, Wanya Morris,
Durand, Joe, Gallant and Tevin Campbell. Usher’s vocal cords continue to be a hot topic following his recent Tiny Desk performance. The performance has over 8.7 million views on NPR’s YouTube channel.
Although some heavy hitters in the music game were discussed following Tamar’s tweet, we can’t forget about Brian McKnight. The ‘Back At One’ singer’s name trended as people discussed his musical contributions.
