Nicki Minaj has reportedly been released from police custody following her arrest in Amsterdam.
On Saturday, May 25, Amsterdam authorities took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update on Minaj. The authorities’ tweet, which was initially shared in Dutch, was translated by The Shade Room.
Additionally, it appears to state that a 41-year-old woman who was arrested earlier in the day, was released. Furthermore, it explained that she was detained on “suspicion of exporting soft drugs.”
“After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect was fined and can continue her journey,” the tweet concluded.
Since her release, Minaj has yet to release a public statement. However, social media users have continued to weigh in with reactions to the entire ordeal. Instagram users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to share their relief at Minaj’s release. Additionally, many defended the rapper.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Minaj was apparently attempting to make her way from Amsterdam to Manchester, England, on Saturday, May 25. When she arrived outside of the airport to board her flight, she was told that her luggage needed to be removed from her vehicle and searched.
As the ordeal unfolded, Minaj alleged to fans via X, formerly known as Twitter, that her tour was being “sabotaged” by the unexpected incident and abrupt delay in her travel schedule.
Additionally, Minaj accused former team members of being the ones behind the plot.
Eventually, Minaj alleged to fans that police found marijuana in her items. She explained that the pre-rolls belonged to her security. However, the police didn’t buy her response.
Ultimately, Minaj was later arrested but managed to film the ordeal on Instagram Live.
