Roomies, Nicki Minaj is two shows deep into her ‘Pink Friday 2′ tour. As fans anticipate Queen Barb taking over their cities for the next few months, Nicki put her personal barb through a lil’ quiz! Nicki Minaj shared a rare look at her and her husband, Kenneth Petty, playfully interacting!
Note that the ‘FTCU’ rapper typically keeps glimpses at her man and their 3-year-old son, Papa Bear, very limited. But this week, she shared a video of the Pettys playing “guess the lyrics” with some of her most iconic tracks!
In the clip, Nicki said her hubby was “coming for the Barbs” when she told him they lost a trivia game. He confirmed that was the case, adding, “You ain’t a Barb” if you lose a trivia. So, as the self-proclaimed “biggest Barb,” Nicki put her man to the test! Kenneth hesitated for a moment but was then ready to play!
For the first test, Nicki rapped, “Lowkey ’cause we just that ill now, ain’t never had a…” before waiting on Kenneth to fill in the rest. The lyrics are from ‘Pink Birthday’ on ‘PF2.’ Petty jumped in, saying, “Bad b**** ’til now,” but Nicki quickly corrected him, pointing out that he replaced “ill” in the real lyrics with “bad.”
“I be saying it in my words, you be saying it the proper way,” Kenneth said, defending his lil’ fumble. “You know I say it the way I like.”
For the second attempt, Nicki kept going with ‘Pink Birthday.’ She rapped, “Post a pic, got him jackin’ like…” Kenneth got the exact words right this time, responding, “Like Jill now.”
Impressed, Nicki kept going! She threw “Break the internet at…” out there, and Kenneth caught it! He successfully replied with the missing lyrics.
Because Kenneth proved he’s tuned in with his wife’s music, she awarded the Barbs at-large! She revealed that she will give her fanbase another chance to win meet-and-greet tickets.
Nicki Minaj added that she didn’t know Kenneth would “get all the words like that.” He said she’s all he listens to, besides a few others. Then, speaking to Nicki’s fanbase, Petty said they’d have to thank him later.
Watch the playful interaction below and see her special message to the Barbs.
This is one of the most recent times Kenneth has appeared on Nicki Minaj’s public platforms, especially since she released ‘Big Foot.’
The track was seemingly a diss aimed at Megan Thee Stallion, who mentioned ‘Megan’s Law’ in her track ‘Hiss.’ In verse one of ‘Hiss,’ Thee Stallion raps, “These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these ho*es mad at Megan’s Law.”
Though Meg didn’t name-drop who the lyrics were meant for, Minaj took it as an attack on her man. Megan’s Law is a California state law mandating law enforcement to provide the public with information about registered sex offenders.
As previously reported, Petty was convicted in 1995 for attempted rape in New York. In 2020, California police arrested her husband for failure to register as a sex offender in the state. That same year, Nicki’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for multiple instances of predatory sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl, per USA TODAY.
